Anna Karenina

Saw the new Anna Karenina. Loved it. The sets, the concept, the way it moves. Keira pulled out all the stops -- the passion, the joy, the eating of heart. (Great death!) She, however, could use a sandwich. Several sandwiches. Jude -- terrific, but really, there was too much sympathy for Karenin, imho. (The moral lesson? Those who separate body and soul have neither.) Vronsky: omg, the supernova of his generation. YES! Kitty, lovely, perfect. Oblonsky, love you to pieces. The one bad note in the whole production? Not casting Eddie Izzard as Levin. Yeah, he's a bit old for it, but he would pull it off brilliantly.
